Strictly fans claim they'll boycott show over Amanda Abbington

A number of BBC Strictly Come Dancing fans have claimed they will not be watching this year's show after Sherlock star Amanda Abbington was confirmed as one of those taking part. Actor Layton Williams and presenter Angela Rippon are also among the stars to have been confirmed in this year's lineup.

Commenting on the news that Amanda would be appearing in Strictly, @mettycalfe said: "Definitely giving it a miss then." @riverstour said: "There's as much chance of me watching this year, as there is of me not buying coffee from Costa."@ellarhapse said: "We won't be watching." @tomtomchap said: "I'm alright thanks, pal."

Others threw their backing behind Amanda and wished her well for the upcoming series. @colletteWalsh said: "Fabulous !!! She’s a fabulous actress and I suspect she’s a pretty impressive dancer !! Great contender already !! Woo!"
