“I am very much looking forward to playing in the Lyell Gustin Series again. I have very fond memories of my last visit,” Jalbert said. “This program is especially close to my heart, with late masterpieces by Bach, Beethoven, Chopin and Prokofiev: immensely contrasting works that span centuries, from Bach’s sunny First Partita to Prokofiev’s 7th Sonata, a jazz-inflected World War II musical epic.”
David Jalbert performs at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church on Aug. 22 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $30 to $50; available at St. John’s Music, Saskatoon Academy of Music, Gustin House Committee,The annual Music for the Gut concert raises funds and awareness for Crohn’s and Colitis Canada.Accompanied by a 13-piece orchestra, the 75-voice Music for the Gut ensemble presents an evening of uplifting pop-rock hits and musical theatre standards.
