Donal Lunny's musical career, family life and relationship with Sinead O'Connor

The music legend has earned widespread recognition for his contributions to the scene over his career, during which he has been credited with bringing Irish music to the pop charts and establishing one of the most innovative Irish bands to have come out of the country.

He also played a key role in the establishment of Planxty , which is widely considered one of the most innovative Irish bands of its era. His talent extends to creating captivating scores for TV dramas and documentaries, collaborating with prestigious broadcasting networks like RTE, BBC, and Channel 4.

He has two children from his first marriage to wife Julia, Oisin Lunny, a member of Marxman, a hip-hop outfit from the late 80s and early 90s that mixed rap with traditional Irish music, and Cora Venus Lunny, a successful violinist and composer.
