BBC Radio 1 DJ Arielle Free taken off air after clash with presenter Charlie Hedges during live show

Free continued: "I don't like this song", with a surprised Charlie replying: "Oh really?".

"I hate it! My Barn, My Rules, what are you talking about? I'm sorry," Free said, with Charlie trying several times to interrupt the DJ. Hedges eventually responded: "Sorry, I'm taking your mic down. It's my show, Arielle, have some respect please. This is Dance Anthems. See you later, get out of here."

Free usually presents Radio 1's Early Breakfast show, Monday to Thursday mornings, but has been absent on Monday and Tuesday's show so far., BBC Radio said: "Whilst we would not comment on individual matters, we have strict codes of behaviour for staff and presenters, and any breaches are taken extremely seriously."Free joined BBC Radio 1 in 2019 as host of the early weekend breakfast show. She now hosts the mid-week morning show and is the voice of Radio 1's Dance stream.
