Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT There are many great superhero movie costumes, but there are also some that have not aged very well. Superhero movies go back almost as far as comic books themselves, but 1978's Superman: The Movie would be the one to truly set the genre in motion.
9 The Leather Outfits In X-Men When X-Men debuted in 2000, superhero movies were on far too thin ice for the team's flashy suits from the comics to be brought to life on the big-screen. However, the subsequent ascendency of superhero movies and the legacy of the X-Men franchise specifically cannot help but make the team's black leather suits in the first X-Men feel very dated.
7 Elektra's Outfit In Daredevil 2003's Daredevil is a better superhero movie than it is given credit for, and it does a fairly decent job of realizing the horned leather suit of Ben Affleck's Matt Murdock. It is a shame, then, that that suit worn by Jennifer Garner's Elektra Natchios is so underdeveloped by comparison.
4 The Suits In Batman and Robin 1997's Batman & Robin is about as universally derided a superhero movie as there has ever been, and the Bat-Family's suits are certainly a component of its bad reputation. Funnily enough, the redesigned suit worn by Chris O'Donnell's Rick Grayson is relatively well-realized middle-ground between his beginnings as Robin and progression into Nightwing, but as with George Clooney's Batman, the rubber nipples just ruin it.
