After having played Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Chris Evans gets imagined as The Flash for James Gunn's DC Universe in fan art.

Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT With James Gunn's DC Universe likely rebooting The Flash with another actor, Captain America star Chris Evans gets imagined as the fastest man alive in new fan art. As the DCEU is coming to an end in 2023, DC Studios is actively working on their new DC Universe, which will start with Chapter 1, "Gods and Monsters.

When it comes to The Flash, the Arrowverse TV show ended its run this year on The CW, while Ezra Miller's movie failed to perform at the box office, leaving the speedster's future unknown in the DC Universe. However, it is not stopping fans from trying to cast the next Barry Allen for the DC Universe, and the latest suggestion is one of the bigger stars of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Artist jph_photoshop released new fan art of Evans as the Scarlet Speedster, stating they have wanted him as The Flash "ever since watching the animated Flashpoint movie." Evans is no stranger to the superhero genre, after having played Captain America in the MCU for the entire Infinity Saga and even played Human Torch in the original Fantastic Four movies.

Chris Evans, who is 42 years old, could play a more seasoned Flash, in a DC Universe where superheroes are already established, as has been announced to be the case for Gunn's Superman: Legacy. Rather than sign on for another multi-picture deal, Evans as The Flash could directly pave the way for someone like Wally West to take over his mantle, whether it would be Barry vanishing or dying, a la Crisis on Infinite Earths.

It will be interesting to see how Gunn takes on The Flash mythology in his DC Universe, and if he is even going to have Barry featured at all. Given how much Flash content there have been in the last couple of years, DC Studios doesn't seem to be in a rush for another project for the speedster, especially after the DCEU movie's flop. For now, where The Flash fits into the DC Universe is a question that will be answered as DC Studios get things rolling.
