Oscar-winning director Neil Jordan revealed his final moments with Sinead O’Connor – saying he believed "fame lacerated" the singer too much.
"I knew her through various ups and downs. Our paths would cross. We never fell out and it was difficult not to fall out with Sinead at some stage. She was a big person in my life. Opening about the shock news of her death, Mr Jordan said: "I don’t know what to say really. It is just tragic but not inevitable at all. That’s the thing that upsets me. I would’ve liked to have seen what work she could do when she got through all her troubles and she came out the other side.
