Dj Zinhle and Cici's upbeat and groovy yet emotional single Thula is dominating the charts almost three weeks after its release. Thula debuted at third place on iTunes and is currently in the top 10 on iTunes and radio monitor.
This week, the two artists, Zinhle"DJ Zinhle" Jiyane and Busisiwe"Cici" Thwala opened up about their creative efforts to heal the hearts. “The collaboration was initiated by. We had spoken before about possibly doing a song together, but we never got to it until she sent me a clip of her singing and asked if I’d be interested to work on the song. [After hearing the clip] I immediately knew we needed to work together,” said Jiyane.
Thwala, who is also part of one of the current hits, Hamba Juba by Lady Amar , said after writing Thula, the first person she thought of was Jiyane because her music was emotional and storytelling.We had a strong team behind the musical part of it to make sure that the music speaks to the lyrics and supports what the lyrics are saying. It took us two days [to finish the song]. They were a great team to work with, very strong and musically inclined, it made the sleepless nights worth it.
