Thursday, July 13, 2023 7:46PMThe union representing film and television actors says no deal has been reached with studios and streaming services and its leadership has voted to go on strike when the clock hits midnight Thursday.Film and television actors will go on strike late Thursday night after failing to reach a new deal with producers over weeks of intense negotiations, SAG-AFTRA officials announced.

Shortly after Thursday's strike vote, The Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers, which represents studios, said in a statement Members of the Writers Guild of America have been on strike since early May, slowing the production of film and television series on both coasts and in production centers like Atlanta.
