JOHANNESBURG - Popular peri-peri chicken restaurant Nando's, renowned for both its wit and food, has set out to find the continent's next upcoming musical sensation.
The awards will honour a variety of local artists and music industry gurus, including musicians, DJs, rappers, vocalists, and producers. This year, guests will be treated to a host in media personality and actress Khanyi Mbau. “Sponsoring the Emerging Artist of the Year category at BIMA, and the songwriting workshop, excites us at Nando’s, because it ties in directly with our aim of nurturing and showcasing local talent in a way that makes a meaningful difference,” she said.The five nominees for Emerging Artist were chosen by Nando's musical collaborator Bridges For Music. The public can now cast votes on the nominations.
