Wacha and Darvish in line to rejoin rotation in coming days; Padres, Pirates play in bad air; Joe Musgrove grinds through another quality start

Seth Lugo will start Friday against the Reds, and it seems things are lining up for Michael Wacha and Yu Darvish to pitch the following two days in Cincinnati.

Darvish isn’t all the way back from the flu-like symptoms that kept him from making his scheduled start Tuesday.“Getting better,” he said after a day of activity that included his playing catch and working out. Lugo was preparing earlier this week to start Saturday or Sunday. After Darvish missed his Tuesday start, the initial thought was he would go Friday. When he did not recover as quickly as hoped, Lugo altered his schedule. The start of Thursday’s game was delayed 45 minutes due to poor air quality caused by smoke from the Canadian wildfires that have been burning for three weeks.

Some players said their eyes burned a little bit. Some felt a burning in their chest. But no one said it affected the way they played.
