The AFL has approached Australian pop diva Kylie Minogue to perform at this year’s AFL grand final. 7NEWS

Williams’ performance delighted the 100,000-strong crowd as the AFL’s showpiece event returned to the MCG with a bang following two years interstate due to COVID.The fan-favourite dressed in a hot pink suit and had the crowd in a frenzy as he belted out hits such as Angels, Kids and Let Me Entertain You.Other international artists to play at the grand final include Black Eyed Peas , The Killers and Ed Sheeran and Sir Tom Jones .

Over the years there has been a series of hits and misses, with Meat Loaf’s effort in the 2011 grand final on top of the pile of international acts who have bombed. The AFL often has a local flavour included in the pre-match entertainment, but Minogue has never featured.She has sold more than 80 million records to make her the highest-selling female Aussie artist of all time.
