Step into an enchanted world of fairies and flowers at the Lady Lever Art Gallery this summer.
The Port Sunlight museum is celebrating 100 years of Cicely Mary Barker’s ethereal 'Flower Fairy' pictures in a new exhibition - just in time for the famous illustrator's birthday on June 28. 'Flower Fairies' features around 45 exquisite and botanically accurate original illustrations, including Barker’s early sketches, digital projections, items from National Museums Liverpool’s botany collection, and costumes inspired by the fairies, designed by Vin Burnham.The Silver Birch Fairy costume and illustrationsaid: “Flower Fairies will consider the influences on Cicely Mary Barker’s art.
