In a surprising move, Hulu has confirmed that the Nicole Kidman drama Nine Perfect Strangers will return for season 2. Adapted from the Liane Moriarty novel of the same name by Big Little Lies creator David E. Kelley, Nine Perfect Strangers unfolded in Tranquillum House, a mysterious wellness retreat overseen by the charismatic founder Masha .

Per TVLine, Kidman will be back as Masha and in her capacity as executive producer. Murray Bartlett, who recently played Armond in The White Lotus season 1 and Frank in HBO's Last of Us adaptation, is in talks to join the cast.
Nine Perfect Strangers Is Now An Anthology The characters of Nine Perfect Strangers mostly received a fitting ending at the conclusion of season 1. In interviews, director Jonathan Levine expressed an interest in bringing in nine different characters which now looks to be coming to fruition. For those who've followed Kidman's run on the small screen over the past few years, they'll know it's not the actor's first time starring in an adaptation of a Liane Moriarty.
Even though there isn't a second book for Nine Perfect Strangers season 2 to be adapted from, the anthology allows the story to start fresh. The show's initial batch of episodes received mixed reviews, with critics finding that the story was weak at various points but helped by strong performances. Officially no longer a limited series, the Hulu dramatic thriller could be rejuvenated by the new faces and setting.
