Tejano singer petitions Freddy Fender for Country Music Hall of Fame.

Veronique Medrano, a Tejano country solo artist, launched the petition last year in hopes of making Freddy Fender the first Mexican-American to be be inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. After he was discharged, he returned to Texas and played in many different locations, eventually changing his name to Freddy Fender.
