We can all agree that there are a few greater joys than listening to your favourite song, but we seldom think about what goes into making that song, and the range of emotions that the musician goes through to prepare for the release.
We saw a glimpse of this when muso Kabelo Motsamai, more affectionately known by his stage name Prince Kaybee, opened up about the anxieties associated with releasing new music and the reactions from fans that came with it. Early last week, the Fetch Your Life hitmaker announced the release of his sixth studio album titled Music Theory. The musician then hit the streets in an effort to garner the support of his fans for his new release and even interacted with them on social media.
The release of Music Theory fell on June 15, which was also Motsamai’s birthday, so, naturally, the week was entitled Prince Kaybee Week by the talented muso. The album was Motsamai’s first release since leaving Universal Music in April this year. The announcement was met with a lot of love from his fans and Motsamai couldn’t help but get emotional over the support, saying that he had been missed by those who loved him. He took to social media and shared the good news, saying:
Shame my people missed me????, haven’t been in the streets to do promo in a long while. NEW MUSIC IS OUT. Full album dropping next week Thursday 15th of June.
