Docs show that he texted his family members ‘goodbye’ and that he ‘was not going to be able to see them for a while’ because he had ‘killed someone in Auburn.’

AUBURN, Wash. — A 16-year-old has been accused of murdering a man in Auburn on May 30. Prosecutors said the teen tracked his girlfriend’s phone and saw she was with the man.

Prosecutors said the teen also talked to his girlfriend’s father after he saw she was in Enumclaw and then told her father she looked like she was ‘coming back’. Video footage showed that the teen left his school and drove to a parking lot just off Auburn Way South and waited for his girlfriend to drive by. The teen then drove from the parking lot to chase the man’s car and pulled up next to him at an intersection. The teen then allegedly fired three shots at the man through the passenger’s side window at near point-blank range.

After killing the man, prosecutors said the teen fled with his girlfriend and drove to Portland. He was arrested the next morning by the Gresham Police Department. Charging docs show that he texted his family members ‘goodbye’ and that he ‘was not going to be able to see them for a while’ because he had ‘killed someone in Auburn.’

Prosecutors said the teen was also convicted less than six months ago for armed robbery. For the alleged murder, prosecutors are asking his bail be set at $3,000,000.
