King Kong has been re-imagined on the big screen many times, but 2005's King Kong set up a prequel concept that has curiously been ignored.

The perfect King Kong prequel concept has never been explored by any of the giant ape's many incarnations. The eponymous Kong famously made his big-screen debut in 1933's King Kong, which became a historic success during the Great Depression. Kong would later return to the big screen in numerous remakes, such as 1976's King Kong, and even fight Godzilla himself twice in King Kong vs. Godzilla and Godzilla vs. Kong in 1962 and 2021, respectively.

A Flourishing Human Society Once Lived On Skull Island In the DVD mockumentary Skull Island: A Natural History, it is revealed that roughly 3,000 years ago, "a highly developed civilization" once called Skull Island home.
