Even better for Ford fans, the bigger Taurus came in second place in sales.Remaining on the top of the podium for 1988 is the Ford Escort, moving nearly 400,000 units for two years in a row. This would be the last year the Escort would take the number one spot.For the first time, Honda takes the number one spot for car sales in the U.S. with the Accord.
