One of the first major juried art shows of the season came to St. Charles over the weekend as the 25th annual St. Charles Fine Art Show returned to Riverside Avenue and Main Street in the city’s downtown.

The show, held Saturday and Sunday, featured 100 artists from around the country. It was organized by the St. Charles Business Alliance and sponsored by the St. Charles Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep-Ram dealership.Rachael Garland, digital marketing strategist for the Business Alliance, said the size of this year’s show fell in line with those of the past and the alliance “was very happy in getting 100 artists.

Scott Garrelts from Douglass, Kansas, shows off art he has for sale at the 25th annual St. Charles Fine Art show that was held Saturday and Sunday. “We have been here now four times and love coming back. We sell like crazy and people are wonderful,” he said. “The St. Charles group that runs it, they treat us really well and there are plenty of volunteers and they give us lunch. it’s just a nice environment to be in.”

“Look at him, he’s looking all around at everybody and he loves it,” Griskell said about his dog which was dressed up with a bow-tie. “He likes to look at stuff – he watches people.
