Like many other filmmakers, John Carpenter has a long list of unmade projects, but if the Halloween saga is to continue with a new movie, it could revive a wild unmade sci-fi slasher from Carpenter’s list.
In an interview back in 1998, Carpenter described Meltdown as “kind of Halloween in a nuclear power plant”, but in the end, the project never went into production. Meltdown was close to seeing the light of day on different occasions after Carpenter left the project and started working on Halloween, and in the early 1980s, Joe Dante was brought on board to direct it, but in Dante’s words , the project “melted down at Avco Embassy”.
Michael Myers and The Figure share more than their similar nicknames, as they both stalked innocent people, though The Figure had a specific reason, while Michael simply did so because he was evil . Michael Myers’ face is mostly hidden throughout Halloween except at the end when Laurie managed to unmask him, and unlike The Figure, Michael never spoke, not even in the flashback to the night when he killed his sister.
