The Naperville Park District has released its lineup of free, outdoor events and entertainment for the summer season beginning in June.

brings family-friendly movies to the parks on Friday evenings. Locations alternate between the 95th Street Community Plaza and Rotary Hill, and start times vary with the changing sunset time. Attendees can bring their own folding chairs or blankets.July 28 – “Minions: the Rise of Gru” at 8:30 p.m. at Rotary Hill, 443 Aurora Ave.Aug. 25 – “Strange World” at 8 p.m. at Rotary Hill, 443 Aurora Ave.

Sept. 8 – “Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile” at 7:30 p.m. at 95th Street Community Plaza, 3109 Cedar Glade Drive.BrightSide Theatre, in partnership with the Naperville Park District, will present a series of free performances at several different parks throughout the community. Each hour-long show starts at 7 p.m. and will feature songs by Andrew Lloyd Webber from his well-known Broadway musicals, such as “The Phantom of the Opera,” “Cats,” “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat,” “Evita and Sunset Boulevard.”The summer schedule is:July 14 at Country Lakes Park, 736 Genesee Drive.Aug. 3 at the Millennium Carillon Amphitheatre, 443 Aurora Ave.
