Anna Daly has told how it feels “really special” to be a part of Hospital Live — and that while the show highlights topics that aren’t necessarily easy, “they’re hugely important ones”.
She explained, “It’s a gorgeous show to do — it feels like one of those TV projects that… it’s people’s stories, real life stories, and they’re putting themselves out there to highlight the medical talent on offer around the country. It just feels like a really special one.” There will also be stories told from medical centres and hospitals around Ireland, which shed a light on how Ireland fits into the world of innovative medicine. She continued, “Quite often when we think of that, we picture people travelling to the States for medical trials, cutting edge surgery or whatever it may be.
“There’s a microwave technology to detect breast cancer so much quicker than the screening technology we’ve got in place right now. We think that we have all the latest, but of course everything evolves and improves. And we have that.” “And it gives people a sense of, ‘you know what? We’ve got this. Whatever I may end up suffering from in the future, chances are somebody’s working on the cure for it right now — or if not the cure, the treatment"View gallery The journalist added that the underlying message of the programme is that “in so many cases, a visit to the doctor is now one of hope”.
