BBC host Kirsty Young completely mispronounced US popstar Nicole Scherzinger's name during coverage of the King's Coronation Concert yesterday evening.Young interrupted Jordan Banjo, who was speaking to the singer at the time, as she spotted the royal family arriving."There is not very much that could upstage Nicole Sherginer...you know who I mean."
reported that Kirsty later apologised to Diversity's Banjo, saying:"Very sorry to cut you off in your prime there. I have to tell you it was all go here.In response, Jordan said:"If anyone was going to cut my time off with Nicole Scherzinger it had to be the King and Queen. That's fine."Those watching the Coronation quickly took to social media to comment on the mispronunciation.
One person wrote on Twitter:"HOWLING AT HOW KIRSTY YOUNG JUST SAID NICOLE SCHERZINGER and then went ah you know what I meant." The incident comes after Kirsty mispronounced Strictly pro-Anton Du Beke's name on air, instead referring to him as “Anton Du Berk”.
