The production was outlandish in the finest sense of the word. An excellent show was produced throughout, thanks to intricate costumes coupled with elaborate makeup, adaptable set pieces accompanied by fitting props, and fine acting from a talented cast. The cast and crew worked together seamlessly to portray the distinction between the ordinary world and the extra Fantastica.

Elder played by Adrian Abou , Cairon played by Klara Jawhari , Atreyu played by Nicolas Torres Ramos , Artax played by Elizabeth Kile , and Purple Buffalo played by Baasit Nsubuga, during St. Francis Xavier High School’s Cappies production of The Neverending Story, on April. 21,2023.Ariana Gomes portrayed the youthful and ostracized Bastian, regularly inciting laughter and invoking feelings of pity.

Instead of curtains rising to start the story, the audience was met with sounds of drumming weaving all around the stage. The harmony and unity of the ensemble was striking, complementing the soon to appear Nothing that would cover the stage. The involvement of the same ensemble with the crew made sure to show a constantly flowing set, as well as the grandiose personalities of the characters that required more than one person to translate them.

While a fictional story, The Neverending Story felt alive and magical.
