Or heavy metal, or kpop, or punk, or any genre that isn't on the closed-off playlists on the hit radio stations. The radio plays the same 30-40 songs all day, and wonders why listeners are going down. People can find what they like these days.
In my opinion ,playing Taylor Swift on a ‘cello and piano isn’t classical music, it’s simply an arrangement. I hope the new radio station doesn’t patronise the listener with easy listening. There’s another channel for that.
The Danish Quarter over Kanye West and B Card I... yup
Oooo those noisy people banging on their guitars, what are they called? The Beeahtles
Sounds like a last resort!
Balderdash
I switched to classical music when I was 12 in 1997/8 when it was all Britney Spears and N'Sync. Listening to Mozart at the moment. Bliss.
Excellent idea.
I listen to classical to help me revise 👂❤️
I think people of all ages are doing the same at the moment.
DrJoeAbah how do we make dis appeal to our young men and women, I think it’s d most engaging tune as opposed to hip hop that’s vulgar and non tasking
My Teenager and 4yo listen to Classical music everyday thanks to Mum & Dad, it's very much part of our routine and lives. Just helps to create a calm & peaceful environment. Thanks of course to ClassicFM
Middle-aged people turned to classical music to escape the ‘noise of modern life’ in autumn 2016 (two years after indyref, several months after brexit vote) when shouting at BBCr4today in anger & frustration became unseemly.
I don't bloody blame them!
This what we called running from pillar to pole, no music is performed in silence.

I’m well over 35, but enjoy classical and opera. I listen to classical when reading & opera when cooking supper & cleaning the kitchen.
They don't look that young
Yeah, that was my experience. By my late teens, I turned to classical music because I did not like how pop music was trending to back then.
Really?
Classical Rock? Alrighty then,I'm in!
Life has surface noise.
Because ‘pop’ music is shit.
Considering only 3% of the listening radio audience listens to classical music, this is progress!
