Fast & Furious star Vin Diesel recently released Riddick: Furya concept art featuring his anti-hero wielding Furyan powers. Introduced in Pitch Black, former mercenary-turned-criminal Richard B. Riddick provides his skills as a warrior to aid a group of survivors escaping a desolate planet teeming with a violent alien species.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Diesel recently took to Instagram to share Riddick: Furya concept art featuring the titular character wielding superpowers. With his back turned, blue energy resembling a scythe emanates from Riddick's right arm, providing a cool glow over the image. Diesel writes "The Furyan" as a caption, teasing a further evolution of the science-fiction action hero.
What We Know About Riddick: Furya Shortly after releasing Riddick in 2013, Diesel has repeatedly pushed his desire to continue the franchise. In 2016, Diesel and franchise director David Twohy announced they were working together to develop a fourth film. Although the actor intended to shoot Riddick: Furya in 2017, Diesel revealed he received a finished script from Twohy in 2021 and has since provided updates through social media to include concept art and selected images from storyboards.
The newly shared concept art, coupled with Riddick 4 images also released by Diesel and statements from Twohy, indicate Riddick: Furya will explore more of the character's unique powers stemming from his mysterious past. Said to be the last of species, Riddick was nearly killed as a child by the bloodthirsty Necromongers after an Elemental seer told Lord Marshal Zhylaw that a Furyan would kill him in the future.
