Former President Donald Trump is set to headline a CNN town hall next week in New Hampshire, bringing the Republican face to face with one of the television networks he has claimed is a purveyor of 'fake news.'

The event is scheduled to take place at 9 p.m. on May 10 at St. Anselm College in Manchester, and will be moderated by CNN anchor Kaitlan Collins.

Mr. Trump is the clear frontrunner for the 2024 GOP presidential nomination and is looking to avoid the same fate as 2020, when his take-no-prisoners style turned off moderate voters. Mr. Trump, as president, had some memorable exchanges with reporters from the network, including Jim Acosta. The announcement from CNN follows the firing of Don Lemon, one of the network’s more prominent on-air personalities, as well as the decision of Fox News to part ways with popular host Tucker Carlson.

The Trump campaign, meanwhile, announced Mr. Trump will return to Iowa for a rally in Des Moines on Saturday. It marks his second visit to Iowa, which will kick off the nomination process, since he announced his third bid for president.
