April 29, 2023Human rights’ activist and presidential candidate of the African Action Congress , Omoyele Sowore, has expressed disappointment over the absence of Nigeria’s “president-elect”, Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Abuja Marathon 2023.
According to Sowore, “This is the first Abuja marathon, I participated and I ran longer than I expected. I expected that the Minister of FCT will be here.. I also expected that I would see some presidential candidates. I was even expecting Tinubu to be here but apparently I am the only presidential candidate standing after the election.
Sowore stressed the importance of sports as one of veritable tools to unite Nigerians and generate employments for teeming unemployed graduates in the country.The marathon started at Abuja Continental Hotels formerly known as Sheraton Hotels and terminated at the Eagle’s Square where he was presented with gold medal and a certificate of participation.
