According to the Seoul Gangnam Police Station, Moonbin was found dead at his home in Gangnam, Seoul at about 8:10 p,m. on April 19 by his manager who reported it to the police. He was 25.Moonbin and his real-life sister Moon Sua, a member of K-pop group Billlie The funeral ceremony for Moonbin was held privately on April 22 with family, friends and fellow members in ASTRO in attendance.
"Oppa, it's me. Your one-and-only younger sister Sua. I was here too. I cried so much until now, and am going to stop crying. From now on, I'm going to laugh and smile. I'll make sure to be happy, doing things that I want to do,” wrote Moon Sua in her letter to her late brother, according to SBS News.She added, "So, you've got to be happy and rest in peace there. And keep an eye on me to check if I'm doing well, okay? I'm going to live my life to the fullest.
In his letter to Moonbin, Cha Eun-woo wrote, “"Hey, Bin. Tonight's a night that I miss you, you bastard. I couldn't fall asleep, so I came out for a walk with San-ha. Are you getting a good sleep? Why do I feel like I took everything for granted with you, even the smallest things? I miss all those things, and I also have lots of regrets. I hope that you will be like 100 times happier over there.
Mingyu wrote, "Hi, Bin. If it wasn't for you, I probably would've never come to your company, but here I am, all thanks to you. My most memorable memory with you is when we talked all night long. You remember that day? You had many worries in your head, and the only response I could give you was, 'There's no other K-pop star who is as good at everything as you are.'"
