There will be no real weapons on the set of Guy Ritchie's new movie, The Covenant, after Ritchie elected to ban guns from set after the Rust shooting.

After the Rust shooting, director Guy Ritchie has elected to remove all real guns from the set of The Covenant. A story set during the War in Afghanistan, The Covenant revolves around the relationship between Sergeant John Kinley and his translator, Ahmed . As it is set during a modern war, guns are a staple aspect of the movie.

It's the first shoot that we had, which I have to tell you, it's a tremendous relief for all of us. They're as good as, they look as good as real weapons, they do all the functions as a real weapon. You get a gas discharge.

How The Rust Shooting Is Changing Hollywood The reason for The Covenant's gun change revolves around the Rust shooting. After the death of 42-year-old cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, investigations have been ongoing into what exactly happened to cause the gun in Alec Baldwin's hand to fire. While the police recently dropped Baldwin's charges, the reason for the accidental discharge remains unclear.
