. Filming has been suspended for the new series of Top Gear after Andrew 'Freddie' Flintoff was injured and there has been no announcement on when it will return
Last month, the BBC announced 'it would be inappropriate to resume making series 34 of Top Gear' at the time, after an internal investigation into the incident which left Flintoff airlifted to hospital.Freddie has been involved in an accident while filming Top Gear, having previously crashed a car in Mansfield town centre in 2019. Footage showed his car smashing through a barrier and into a market stall, but in that incident he escaped uninjured.
Speaking at a Broadcasting Press Guild event, chief content officer of the BBC, Charlotte Moore, was probed on if Top Gear would be returning. To which, she replied: My priority at the moment is supporting Freddie through his recovery so I think it would be really inappropriate for us to resume filming now.
