Sickle cell in spotlight thanks to BBC show

This is excellent work. Sickle cell is now slowly becoming one of the main UK genetic conditions. In West Africa one in four people are carriers and sickle cell should be on the public health agenda. Better treatment, care and holistic support across the life needed.

I remember when BBC dramas weren’t obsessed with virtue signalling and actually just entertained.

Yeah because no ones ever heard of this disease before.

Have they covered rickets yet?

Rheumatic fever would be a good one to show it's affects in the 40/60s I had it in the 60s, my mum her sister had it both much earlier. Her sister died from it, and my mum had a in large heart condition through it, I was lucky with the drug penicillin then so lucky 😙💖xx
