What appalls me is that Diane Abbott is really intelligent. She won The Spectator magazine's 'Parliamentary Speech of the Year' award in 2007 and won recognition at the 2008 Human Rights awards. She is older than she looks (65) and still puts energy into her causes. Respect!
This deflects the real issue beautifully. Diane is no ordinary MP, she is potentially holder of one of the four great offices of state. That means scrutiny of malapropisms, public performance and dependability. Labour needs to get over itself.

The tone used by Fiona Bruce towards Diane Abbott was unacceptable. Fiona acted like she had an agenda. David Dimbleby would never have used such a condescending tone!
The only reason they have her on is because of the comedy value.
Diane Abbott has done more for humanity in 5 minutes than the entire gammon population have managed in their whole hog lives
