The Walking Dead: Dead City images have offered a closer look at a new main character who will be causing conflict in the zombie drama spinoff. Dead City, which is one of the first spinoffs to air after the end of The Walking Dead, is due to premiere on AMC on June 18. The six-episode season will follow Maggie and Negan reuniting to travel to Walker-infested Manhattan to save Maggie's kidnapped son Hershel.
AMC shared a brand-new gallery of images showing off the Walking Dead: Dead City cast. The images reveal new glimpses of Maggie and Negan in their first adventure following the Walking Dead series finale. They also show a terrifying new Walker and the new character Perlie Armstrong, played by Gaius Charles. Check out all four images below:

This is exemplified by the fact that the cast a TV veteran in the role. Charles, who first came to prominence by playing Brian "Smash" Williams on Friday Night Lights, has also held major roles in Grey's Anatomy, Aquarius, and the short-lived TV remake of Taken.
Armstrong's role in the Walking Dead spinoff has not yet been fully explored. However, quite a few details have been revealed about him ahead of the series premiere this summer. This includes the fact that he is a marshal in the survivor community of New Babylon. He will provide dramatic complications to Maggie and Negan's quest as he attempts to hunt down Negan while they are on their journey. His indefatigable vigor comes from the fact that he is a family man and is devoted to doing whatever it takes to keep the world safe for his wife and daughters. As in the main series, The Walking Dead: Dead City seems prepared to explore how the damage that humans do to each other is even more intense than the undead, so Armstrong may be at the center of this.
