Just in time for Easter, 50,000 filled plastic eggs will fall from the sky during a helicopter egg drop.

The tenth annual event runs noon-5 p.m. April 1 in the 3800-4000 blocks of Lyons. Admission is free. This year's theme is"Fifth Ward Forever."

James will perform at 2 p.m. on one of four stages featuring zydeco, Tejano and R&B musicians. Harrison Guy, Fifth Ward's director of arts and culture, says James' music"matches the mood and passion of Fifth Ward." Just in time for Easter, 50,000 filled plastic eggs will fall from the sky during a 3 p.m. helicopter egg drop. The festival will also feature food, local vendors and community services.

James' seventh album,"See Me," was released in 2021.
