Like most USB microphones, the Sennheiser Profile is USB compliant, so it can be plugged into almost any device running macOS, iOS, iPadOS, Windows or Android. The host device automatically recognizes the microphone and you need only to select the Sennheiser Profile as the input and output audio device.
The standard version of the Profile ships with a 1.2m USB-C cable, while the boom arm comes with a 3m cable that clips neatly into a channel running along the side of the boom to keep everything neat. Beneath the gain control, there is another knob for setting the mix between the sound from the mic and the sound from the computer. Not all microphones have this function, but it’s so helpful and balances the volume between the two audio sources to match each other. Meanwhile, beneath the Mix control, there’s a volume knob for setting the amount of sound output to the headphones plugged into the rear of the mic.
