Baz Ashmawy leads tributes to DIY SOS star Johnny Aylward after he passes away

Johnny appeared on the show last year and the emotional episode centred on him and his family's dream home.

The DIY SOS team shared a heartfelt tribute to him on their Facebook page. “Johnny was at the centre of our New Ross episode, which broadcast on RTE. Johnny was a strong advocate for families impacted by Motor Neuron Disease and fought a bleak prognosis with dignity, humour and courage.

"I haven't posted in a while and I'm so sad this is the post I am putting up," he captioned a photo of him and Johnny. "I'm a little lost for words after the death of my friend Johnny Aylward after his impossible battle with motor neuron disease.
