SALT LAKE CITY — The new 2023-2024 Broadway at the Eccles season features several musicals with songs from some of the biggest artists in the music industry."MJ" centers around the making of Michael Jackson's legendary 1992 Dangerous World Tour, and includes fan favorites like "Beat It," "Billie Jean," "Thriller" and many more. "MJ" offers a rare look at the creative mind and collaborative spirit of the pop icon.
And "Mamma Mia" is essentially a greatest hits album for ABBA. It includes songs like "Dancing Queen," "Super Trouper," "Thank You for the Music," and more. It is a story of a girl's quest to discover the father she's never known as her wedding on a Greek island paradise approaches.topped the music charts as well with its blend of hip-hop, jazz, R&B and Broadway.
The season starts with "My Fair Lady," the Lincoln Center production that won the 2018 Tony Award for best revival of a musical. The musical runs Nov. 12-18. Boasting classing songs as "I Could Have Danced All Night," "The Rain in Spain" and "On the Street Where You Live," the production tells the story of Eliza Doolittle, a young Cockney flower seller and her linguistics professor who is determined to transform her into a proper lady.
"Broadway has become the hottest ticket in Salt Lake City," said Victor Hamburger, vice president of Mountain for Broadway Across America. "We really have something for everyone this year."
