Detective Pikachu shot many of its scenes in Scotland

Scotland has become a Hollywood hotspot in recent years, with a number of blockbusters being filmed around the country.

One film you may not know was shot in Scotland is Detective Pikachu, a 2019 film based on the Pokémon franchise—the highest-grossing franchise of all time. The film stars Ryan Reynolds as the titular Detective Pikachu, as he attempts to solve the mysterious disappearance of an insurance agent's father.

However, the film also sees the characters venture out of Ryme City into the countryside. It is during these scenes that Scotland was used as a filming location.
