Disney CEO Bob Iger shared frank comments about his plans for Marvel going forward: “Sequels typically work well for us, but do you need a third or a fourth for instance? Or is it time to turn to other characters?'

“I’m really pleased that the support that I’m getting from the content creators of the company is significant and real, and it comes in the form of reducing the expense per content, whether it’s a TV series or a film, where costs have just skyrocketed in a huge way and not a supportable way in my opinion. They all agree to that,” Iger said, adding that it was also about “understanding how much volume we need, reducing how much we make.

So it’s how much we spend on what we make and how much we make.”“And as we look to reduce the content that we’re creating for our own platforms, there probably are opportunities to license to third parties,” Iger said. “For a while that was verboten or something we couldn’t possibly do, because we were so favoring our own streaming platforms.

Wait it Bob, I knew you still can bring in the Disney magic to The Walt Disney Company again with your days between 2005 and 2020.

How about removing the politics and give us a good story for a change and not race / gender swap all characters.

More like he realizes that illegally viewing videos has crippled most of the big names an they can’t afford the big budgets anymore

😎😎😎👍👍👍

Less Marvel and SW films then as they rely too much on VFX. Can they do more traditional action movies ? Romcoms and teen (or any) dramas are not blockbuster materials.

Finally.

LOL

The Return of The Jedi Iger

NOW IT'S WB TURN!

LauriDonahue Great, he should start with his own salary because this is often code for just underpaying below the line workers.

Would be a good time to repost this. Quality over quantity for Disney and Marvel. Read what I think this will mean for the media giant. Marvel MCU Disney

Lol…iger’s mouthpiece paper. He’s failing…break it to him gently. Shoulda stayed on the yacht, Bob

In other words, it’s contract time and the producers want workers to get less

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 As if Disney could do this. But its nice to see that he may be aware that outside of Animation, Disney is Putting out a ton of 🗑.

More green screen

😬

Guess the fall of Pixar, LucasFilms and the MCU did the trick. Quality over quantity, Mouse.

Would that affect the payment for the VFX artists?

A little late Bobby

Bob Iger also spoke to the future of the StarWars franchise: 'We still are developing Star Wars films. We’re going to make sure that when we make one, that it’s the right one, so we are being very careful there'
