From Harry Potter to Cruella de Vil, children up and down the country are dressing up as their favourite fictional characters for World Book Day.
The first of its kind took place in the UK and Ireland in 1997, encouraging young people to discover the pleasure of reading. A major part of this having children dress up as their favourite book characters as they attend full-time education, giving in some money, often £1, to go towards the charity in exchange for the fancy dress.Although a good and inspirational principle at its core, many parents often find the day a stressful endeavour.
The Radford Family, who would have quite the feat getting outfits for all the children, uploaded an image onto their family Instagram as they prepared to head to school. With the caption: "My little munchkins all ready for world book day," the children were all lined-up in size order in front of the family sofa this morning.
