Citadel, the hotly anticipated new series from Avengers: Endgame directing duo Joe and Anthony Russo, has had its official trailer release delayed. The Russos are executive producing the spy series, which is set to premiere with its first two episodes on Prime Video on April 28. The series was created by Josh Appelbaum & Bryan Oh, who previously collaborated on Happy Town, October Road, Life on Mars, and the James Patterson adaptation Zoo.
On Wednesday, the planned release of the Citadel trailer was delayed. Per Deadline, the reason for this was the deadly train collision in Greece that led to 36 deaths and many more injuries. The teaser, which features a prominent sequence set on a train, was delayed in solidarity with those mourning the loss of loved ones. Read Prime Video's statement to the press below:
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY Out of respect for our international community and due to yesterday’s devastating breaking news from Greece, we are respectfully holding on sharing the official trailer for Citadel.Everything That Has Been Revealed About Citadel So Far It is not uncommon for trailers to be postponed or edited following real-life events. However, Citadel's trailer release also ties into the ethos of the series itself.

The first arm of the series will open with a six-episode season that is jam-packed with international stars. In addition to Chopra Jonas, Madden, and Tucci, the cast of Citadel also includes Oscar nominee Lesley Manville, Osy Ikhile, Ashleigh Cummings, Roland Møller, and Caoilinn Springall. It will be followed by the Indian Citadel series starring Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth, with the other international spinoffs set to arrive down the road.
