Matthew Modine wants to return to Stranger Things in season 5 | Digital Trends

With Stranger Things renewed for a fifth and final season, Matthew Modine is campaigning for his character, Dr. Martin Brenner, to return to the Netflix series. On the BAFTAs red carpet, Modine suggested that his character may not be dead after the events of season 4.

Brenner was working om restoring Eleven’s powers so she could face Vecna in the Upside Down. When the U.S. army overpowers the facility, Brenner tries to escape with Eleven. However, Brenner’s efforts fail when he is shot by a sniper.
