This marks the North American premiere for the sweeping historical drama based on the novel Felix Austria by Sofia Andrukhovych.

The evening event will also honour Viddana editor Viktor Onysko, who was killed in combat on Dec. 30, 2022. YVR Screen Scene is also hosting an online auction featuring rare collectibles donated by members of Vancouver’s film and television community, as well a number of items sent by people in Ukraine, including a boxing glove signed by Wladimir Klitschko and a battle flag that’s been signed by members of a battalion fighting in Vuhledar in Eastern Ukraine. The online auction will run on the Givergy charity auction platform from March 27 to April 7.

“Ukraine barely has the funds to provide trauma therapy for its soldiers, let alone the children of soldiers who have been killed in battle. The program that we’re raising funds for is run by a Canadian non-profit called the Ukrainian Canadian Advocacy Group. Adrian is one of the group’s co-founders,” said Furminger in an email.
