Rebel Moon star Corey Stoll explains how Zack Snyder is an 'actor's director', showering the filmmaker with praise for his dedication and enthusiasm.

Rebel Moon star Corey Stoll has nothing but praise for filmmaker Zack Snyder, suggesting that he is an "actor’s director". Scheduled to be released by Netflix in December this year, the story behind Snyder’s Rebel Moon originally began as an idea for a Star Wars film that he once pitched to Lucasfilm. Once intended to be a single movie, Snyder’s expansive concept for the property inevitably led to it being split into two films.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY Most recently Stoll, who also appeared in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, spoke with Collider about his work on Snyder’s upcoming sci-fi epic. Suggesting that both the film’s cast and crew “would go to the ends of the earth for him”, he was full of praise for the director’s work ethic, enthusiasm, and approachability. This latest testimonial comes on the heels of similar comments made by Stoll’s fellow Rebel Moon co-star Cleopatra Coleman.

He is there in the trenches with everybody. As soon as you walk onto his set, you get a sense that everybody, the cast and the crew, would go to the ends of the earth for him because he's there covered in dust, 110 degrees in the desert, working these crazy hours with a smile on his face and so it really is a joy to see something on that scale, working on that scale, but with this sense of playfulness and enthusiasm that he has.

While Snyder already has big plans for his Army of the Dead cinematic universe, it would seem that Rebel Moon is also ripe for potential expansions. Originally based on the works of Akira Kurosawa and the Star Wars franchise, Snyder’s upcoming space opera has already been split into two parts. Still, it also has the potential to inform additional sequels and spinoffs.

The main question, however, is whether Snyder’s space opera has the potential to be seen as anything more than just a Star Wars clone. While the film’s roots are indelibly connected with George Lucas’ creation, Synder will need to prove that his own world-building skills will allow Rebel Moon to stand on its own two feet. However, if his cast's confidence in his abilities is any indication, sci-fi audiences may very well be in for a treat.

Literally every artist who works with him sings his praises. The man treats his team so well, loves his family, and makes kickass films. It’s so weird that internet trolls and crooked WBD execs hate him so much. RestoreTheSnyderVerse SellSnyderVerseToNeflix

Who knew, right? Us. We did. All along.

The worst director working right now. And possibly in history.

snyder_all The only people who ever criticise him are critics and rabid chronically online haters, every working director (who didn’t get passed over for Snyder for a Superman film) loves him
