Scots could be set for snow, with forecasters predicting two huge blizzards will hit the UK in the coming days. The temperatures are set to drop, with the start of March seeing a cold snap as the result of a stratospheric warming event.
The south of the nation is predicted to be hit by the first in the early hours of Thursday March 9 impacting most of the country south of Birmingham overnight. Cardiff appears to be getting the worst of the weather, with London also expected to see some snow. According to the maps, in both Cardiff and Yorkshire, regions of light purple and white inside dark purple indicate snow falling at a staggering rate, around 10cm per hour.
