Pixar COO Pete Docter feels that Lightyear 'asked too much of the audience'

going back to the drawing board when it comes to storytelling within theof the franchise in the works. Docter calls it “surprising,” fit with “some really cool stuff that you haven’t seen before.”

“The thing we’ve been really trying to do, and this has been the case for a while, is we’ve been looking at them a little bit like, okay, we’re not planning for the future. When we made the firstWe’re just trying to make this movie. But that in making the movie, it takes you places, unexpected places, which is what I love about the creative process. If I knew exactly what I was doing when I started making a movie, there’d kind of be no point in making it. I discover so much along the way.

That’s right, just blame the audience for not liking your product. It’s never the studio who’s at fault for making something nobody wanted to watch. This playbook is getting so tired.

That’s a funny way of saying “unnecessary”

Boy, those guys in Pixar must be so high on their own farts. Disney Animation already gave the template in Buzz Lightyear of Star Command but your misplaced pride made you throw it away for something more pretentious.

Yeah right..

Yeah, it asked the audience to care about a crappy movie

Who asked for the origin story?

you don't have to make excuses for failures. sometimes people just don't want certain movies. like toy story 5. or inside out 2. or frozen 3. or live action pinocchio. or--

What code are they using when they say that? go ahead I'll wait.

yeah it asked them to watch something that sucks

Infinity and Beyond is a big ask…

Didn't ask enough more like it

The movie was okay, nothing special. But taking away Tim Allen's iconic voice was a bad move. Iconography is clearly part of the allure of these characters.

Well, it asked me to like it, for one thing, and that was a bridge too far.
