Minister of State Ossian Smyth has said he been informed of a"major hack" at Virgin Media Television.The minister said it is too early to state the scale or extent of the hack.
The broadcaster said it operates stringent cyber protection measures and said it uses precautions which it immediately activates in such instances. The broadcaster said broadcasting of some of its recorded programming on Virgin Media 3, 4, More and VMTV Player will be affected.
