New Mexico prosecutors have downgraded felony charges against Alec Baldwin and the armorer in the fatal “Rust” shooting, removing the threat that either could spend years in prison.
The most serious charge included a “firearms enhancement” penalty that carried a maximum five years in prison, if convicted.The downgrade happened after Baldwin’s attorneys argued that prosecutors improperly added the enhancement charge. They pointed to the fact that legislation mandating a five-year prison sentence had not taken effect in New Mexico until several months after the shooting took place.

I don’t understand the manslaughter charge for Baldwin. If I need a job done, car brakes say, I hire a mechanic, I get the car & run over someone at the first stop sign because the brakes fail. Am I guilty of manslaughter? The armorer & mechanic possibly. Tragic but a civil suit.
I don’t even understand why there is even charges This was a horrible and sad accident.

And eventually, the spurious and bullshit charges against Alec Baldwin will be dismissed entirely.
IMO, the armorer should be held to a higher standard than the actor because it's the armorer's job to maintain gun safety, not the actor's.
The charges will eventually be dropped against him. The Armorer is in deep trouble
